EDUARDO GIL

Eduardo Gil was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He has had solo exhibitions in Latin America, Europe, the USA and Australia in addition to having participated in numerous group exhibitions.

His work forms part of the collections of institutions such as the Argentine Museum of Modern Art and Fine Art Museum, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, New York’s Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, the Caracas Museum of Fine Arts, the French National Library, the Mexican Centro de la Imagen, Casa de las Américas in Cuba, the International Center for Photography in New York plus many individual collections.

He has been a special guest of the Mexican Autonomous University’s Institute of Aesthetic Investigation (2008), Barcelona’s Casa América Catalunya (2007), the 1st Latin American Photography Forum in Rio de Janeiro (2007), the 1st International Encounter of the Contemporary Image in Lima (2007), the Fototeca de Veracrúz (2007), Mexico’s Centro de la Imagen (2007) and the Daylesford Fotobiennal in Victoria, Australia (2007), amongst others.

In tandem with his personal work he has worked intensively in the development of curatorial projects and in 2004 his contribution to teaching was recognized with an Argentine and International Art Critics award.

His work features in all the principal anthologies of contemporary Argentine and Latin American photography.

Eduardo Gil lives and works in Buenos Aires.
