Ueno: “In 1988 I began studies in Social Communication;
only then did I realise that I had nothing to communicate. Abandoning
the cloister - principally for distraction - I attended a photography
workshop. Seeing that it was easy I decided to continue and
to learn a trade. Two years after embarking I met Estaban Marco
and I realised that the photography that interested me had nothing
to communicate. The texts of Maria Zambrano say that the word
is not an act of communication, but of communion. In that environment
I feel comfortable and everything comes easily; who wouldn't
want it so after near 20 years of looking, and - every so often,
why not - of shining.”
