Marcelo
Brodsky trained as a photographer during his exile
in Barcelona in the 80s. In 1977 he edited and published the
photographic essay Buena Memoria/Good Memory. Between 1997 and
2006, the exhibition of the same name was shown over a hundred
times in more than 18 countries. In 2000 the Buenos Aires Book
Fair and the city's Recoleta Cultural Centre exhibited Los condenados
de la tierra/ The wretched of the Earth. In 2001 he edited and
presented Nexo in Buenos Aires. In 2003 he edited Memory Works,
which was exhibited that year in the University of Salamanca.
In 2006 he curated and presented Memoria en Construcción/Memories
under Construction, the debate on ESMA (School of Naval Mechanics)
as part of Estéticas de la Memoria/The Aesthetics of
Memory in the Recoleta Cultural Centre. The exhibition brought
together the work of more than 60 artists. He is a member of
the Buena Memoria Human Rights organisation and the Commission
for the Monument to Victims of State Terrorism, which is responsible
for supervising the construction of the Memoria Park in Buenos
Aires.
