Melina Rodríguez
Giles was born in Buenos Aires in 1974. She studied
in the School of Creative Photography and attended the clinic
of Marcela Gásperi and the Aesthetic and Creative Photography
Workshop led by Juan Travnik. Solo exhibitions include Boquitas
Pintadas, Buenos Aires (2005), University of Bs As Social Sciences
Faculty photo gallery, Pabellón lV and San Martin Cultural
Centre, Buenos Aires (2002). Group exhibitions include the OSDE
Foundation Argentine Visual Arts Prize and Klemm Foundation
Visual Arts Prize, Buenos Aires (2006); National Salon of Visual
Arts, Palais de Glace, Buenos Aires (2006, 2004, 2003 and 2002);
OSDE Foundation Argentine Visual Arts Prize (mention) , Buenos
Aires Photo Coca Cola Light Competition (3rd prize) and Conjeturas
Paradojales/Paradoxical Conjectures in Borges Cultural Centre,
Buenos Aires (2005); Dante Cultural Centre, Buenos Aires (2002);
Pabellón lV 2nd National Salon (3rd prize), Buenos Aires
(2001). Parallel to her artwork, Melina Rodríguez Giles
works in photo-reportage and publicity photography.
