SIMONASSI |
Rosana Simonassi:
Born in Buenos Aires in 1974. Trained in arts and cinema, she
is the author of photographic series, audiovisual works and
film shorts. Since her early days she has been involved in the
representation of non-alienated dynamics. She has exhibited
widely since 2000, with recent exhibitions including: Diagonale
Centre des Arts et des Fibres, Quebéc (2005, 2006) and
ArtexArte gallery, Buenos Aires (2006). She has been awarded
a grant by the National Ministry of Culture and has undertaken
an artist's residency in the city of Montreal. At present she
continues work on the realization of her video series Weddings,
in which she returns to the use of the moving image to portray
a variety of processes that have no final outcome. She is also
preparing material for her forthcoming solo exhibition in TPW
gallery, Toronto. Rosana Simonassi lives and works in Buenos
Aires.
