Santiago
Porter was born in Buenos Aires in 1971. He studied
photography in Buenos Aires and New York. His work has been
exhibited in both individual and group exhibitions in Argentina
and abroad and forms part of numerous collections, both public
and private. In 2002 he received grants from the Guggenheim
and Antorchas Foundations. In the same year he was invited to
participate in the Banff Centre for the Arts visual arts residency
in Canada. In 2007 he was awarded a grant to participate in
the Telefónica Foundation's Intercampos III programme.
He is the author of the book Piezas, published in 2003 and La
Ausencia/Absence, to be published in 2007. He lives in Buenos
Aires.
